The keyboard appeared in the 1960s through the work of Robert Moog, founder of Moog Music Inc. The first keyboards were commercially inaccessible, as they cost more than $10,000. In addition, they were very large (they measured almost the size of a wall), had numerous cables and were very bad in terms of tuning.
