Baque Virado or Maracatu is an Afro-Brazilian cultural manifestation born in Pernambuco, in the 18th century, with strong and energetic percussion. It emerged from Congada and is based on the implements, boxes, taróis, ganzás and guongês, in addition to its typical characters.
